Running injury & running mechanics physio Frankston

One-to-one physiotherapy for runners

Ash, Master of Physiotherapy, provides one-to-one care in Frankston for runners of different experience levels. Assessment considers the symptoms limiting your running, recent changes in training, strength, load tolerance and relevant movement. The aim is a practical plan for returning to the distances and sessions that matter to you.

Running problems Ash can assess

Running-related pain may involve the knee, shin, calf or Achilles tendon, ankle, foot, hip, lower back or pelvis. Symptoms can follow a sudden change in distance, speed, hills, footwear, terrain or recovery, but often more than one factor is involved.

Ash will consider how the trunk, hip, knee, ankle and foot work together during relevant tasks. Where useful and practical in the clinic, assessment may also include observation of running movement. There is no single “perfect” running style, so changes are recommended only when they fit your symptoms and goals.

What your appointment may include

Your appointment starts with your story, goals, training history and an assessment of movement, strength and load tolerance. Please bring the running shoes you use and wear clothing you can move comfortably in.

Treatment may include education, temporary training changes, hands-on physiotherapy, targeted strengthening, movement retraining and a graded return-to-running plan. Dry needling may be considered as one part of physiotherapy when clinically appropriate and with your consent.

Ash has personal interests in triathlon and running mechanics. This is physiotherapy for running-related pain and movement; it is not a running-coaching service and does not promise injury prevention or performance gains.

Prepare for a useful running assessment

Bring your usual running shoes and, if you have it, a recent training log. Note which sessions bring on symptoms, whether discomfort changes during a run or afterwards, and any recent changes in distance, pace, hills or recovery.

Your discussion with Ash can connect these details with the movement and strength findings, then guide practical training changes and a gradual return to the sessions that matter to you.
