Musculoskeletal pelvic pain physio Frankston

What this physiotherapy service covers

Ash treats musculoskeletal pain and movement concerns around the pelvis, lower back, hips, buttocks and the area around the sacroiliac joints. These symptoms may affect sitting, walking, bending, running, cycling or other everyday activities.

This is not a pelvic-floor service. My Therapist Group does not provide pelvic-floor, continence, pregnancy or postnatal physiotherapy, or internal examinations. If your symptoms involve bladder, bowel, reproductive or other pelvic-health concerns, a GP or suitably qualified pelvic-health practitioner is the appropriate starting point.

When musculoskeletal physiotherapy may be appropriate

Physiotherapy may be appropriate when pelvic-region symptoms are linked with movement, loading, a musculoskeletal injury or interaction with the lower back and hips. Ash may assess your comfortable movement, gait, strength, mobility, load tolerance and the activities that reproduce or ease your symptoms.

Pelvic pain can also come from non-musculoskeletal causes. Arrange medical assessment for unexplained pelvic pain, bleeding, urinary or bowel changes, fever, or feeling unwell. Seek urgent medical care for sudden or severe symptoms.

A plan based on your movement goals

Where physiotherapy is appropriate, your plan may include hands-on treatment, targeted exercise, graded strengthening, movement retraining, education and practical changes for sitting, work or sport. Ash has a particular interest in running and cycling mechanics and can consider these activities when relevant to your symptoms.
