Physiotherapy assessment, treatment and rehabilitation

One-to-one physiotherapy with Ash

Your physiotherapy appointment starts with understanding the problem and the activities you want to return to. Ash will discuss your symptoms, assess relevant movement and explain the findings before agreeing on a practical treatment and rehabilitation plan with you.

Ash works with adults who want help with pain, stiffness, injury, rehabilitation or movement concerns. His particular interests include neck and lower-back problems, musculoskeletal pelvic pain, TMJ/jaw conditions and sport-related movement.

What can physiotherapy help with?

Physiotherapy may be useful when pain, stiffness or reduced confidence in movement is affecting work, exercise, sport or everyday life. Ash commonly works with:

  • neck pain and some neck-related headaches

  • lower-back and musculoskeletal pelvic pain

  • TMJ/jaw pain and movement problems

  • shoulder, hip, knee, ankle and other musculoskeletal injuries

  • post-operative rehabilitation when physiotherapy is appropriate

  • swimming-related shoulder issues, running mechanics, cycling mechanics and triathlon movement

Some symptoms require medical, dental or specialist assessment. Ash will discuss this with you and recommend referral where appropriate.

What your assessment involves

Your first appointment includes a conversation about your symptoms and goals, a physical and movement assessment, and an explanation of the findings.

Agreeing on your treatment plan

Your plan may include hands-on physiotherapy, targeted exercise, movement retraining, education and practical strategies for daily life or sport.

Reviewing progress and adjusting rehabilitation

You will see Ash directly at every appointment, so your plan remains consistent and can be adjusted as you progress.
