Physiotherapy assessment, treatment and rehabilitation
One-to-one physiotherapy with Ash
Start by telling Ash what’s been happening and what you’d like to get back to. He’ll ask a few questions, look at how you move and explain what he finds. From there, you’ll work out a practical treatment and rehabilitation plan together.
Your appointments take place at the My Therapist Group clinic at 35 Partridge Crescent, Frankston. You will see Ash directly each time. Meet Ash and read about his approach, or see fees and your first appointment.
Ash holds a double degree from La Trobe University: a Bachelor of Health Science and a Master of Physiotherapy. He has 12 years of clinical experience. Lower-back pain and sacroiliac joint (SIJ) concerns are the main focus of his practice. He also works with neck, TMJ/jaw and other joint problems, sports injuries and movement concerns.

What can physiotherapy help with?
Physiotherapy may be useful when pain, stiffness or reduced confidence in movement is affecting work, exercise, sport or everyday life. Ash commonly works with:
neck pain and some neck-related headaches
lower-back and musculoskeletal pelvic pain
TMJ/jaw pain and movement problems
shoulder, hip, knee, ankle and other musculoskeletal injuries
post-operative rehabilitation when physiotherapy is appropriate
swimming-related shoulder issues, running mechanics, cycling mechanics and triathlon movement
Sometimes a doctor, dentist or specialist is the right next step. If that’s the case, Ash will explain why and help you work out where to go.
What your assessment involves
You don’t need to arrive with the right words or a diagnosis. Tell Ash what’s been happening. He’ll ask what makes it worse, what helps, how it changes through the day and night, and what it stops you from doing. The physical assessment looks at relevant movement, strength and how you feel during those tasks. A hands-on assessment may also help explore stiffness and sensitivity.
Agreeing on your treatment plan
Ash will explain the findings and discuss suitable treatment options with you. These may include hands-on therapy, dry needling with your consent, targeted exercise, movement retraining and changes to daily activity or training. You’ll have a say in the plan, and Ash will explain why each option may help.
Leaving with a clear next step
Ash will check your response to treatment and explain what to do next. Your plan may include exercises to continue at home, advice about activity, a follow-up appointment, or further investigation or referral if appropriate. You will see Ash directly at each review, so your plan can be adjusted as you progress.
