Why Do I Need A Physio?

If you have any problem with pain or movement, then you would benefit from seeing a Somerville physio. The aim of physio Somerville is to help speed up recovery after surgery or injury, alleviate pain, stiffness and discomfort and help make you more mobile. This is achieved by using evidence based techniques to massage your body, manipulate your joints, stretch your muscles, modify your movements and/or give you certain exercises to do on your own.

You may need a Somerville physio if you have an injury that you need to recover from or if you are recovering from surgery, such as hip or knee surgery. Physiotherapy is also helpful from those suffering from regular migraines or headaches as these may be related to issues of the neck, shoulders or back.

In the event that you do have issues, you would of course benefit by visiting My Therapist Group Physio near Somerville. The primary point of a physio is to help support your rehabilitation after injury or medical procedure. We aim to restore you to your previous physical condition. At My Therapist Group, we use stretching, massaging, extension, joint control and exercise programs to do at home so that you can return to the best possible quality of life. You may also find physiotherapy helpful if you have recurrent headaches and migraines or if you have issues with sitting and standing posture.

You do not need a doctor’s referral to see a physiotherapist, because we are independent practicing healthcare professionals. We are also trained to recognise when another health professional, like a doctor, should be involved in your care and can work closely with your doctor and other allied health professionals where necessary. Simply book an appointment online or over the phone. If it’s easier, you can also drop by in person.

Do You Have Chronic Pain?

Have you been suffering from chronic pain for the last two years or more? You may be eligible for an EPC Plan (Enhanced Primary Care Plan), where you will receive 5 free/reduced cost appointments each calendar year. All you need, is a referring GP to make you a GP Management Plan, and have them refer you to us. We will sort out the rest, and ensure that your chronic pain is resolved within several appointments! As the highest rated physio in the local area, we’ve been able to resolve many different pain types for our clients (ranging from back pain, to pelvic pain and more)!

We’ll gladly accept any GP referral, but we do recommend using our EPC Plan partners, Peninsula Family GP in Frankston!
