What Is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is a based on sciences such as anatomy, physiology and neuroscience. The aim is to help you get the most out of your life by achieving better physical function. Physiotherapy achieves this by treating ailments such as stiffness and decreased mobility, injury, disease and deformity. Methods are evidence based and include massage, joint manipulation, exercise, use of adapted equipment and mobility aids, and education to prevent further injury and enhance daily life.
Why Do I Need Physiotherapy?
You may need physiotherapy if you have one or more of the following signs and symptoms:
Decreased mobility due to age, sports or surgical procedures (e.g. hip or knee replacement)
Pain or stiffness (e.g. sore neck or back)
Poor balance and coordination
Problems sleeping due to discomfort
Frequent headaches or migraines
Recovering from surgery
Managing chronic disease
If you have any of the issues listed above, you don’t need a referral to see one of our physiotherapists. Simply call or book an appointment online and we will be happy to meet with you for a new client initial consultation to assess your physiotherapy needs.
Our physiotherapists are tertiary qualified health professionals who are trained to identify and treat your physiotherapy-based issues. However we are also trained to identify other issues and may suggest and refer you to other care providers (for example, if you also need a medical doctor involved in your care).
